Ms. Amanda

Owner/Studio Director

At the heart of Momentum is Ms. Amanda—a passionate performer, educator, and mentor with nearly 40 years of dance experience and over 20 years of teaching experience.

She has trained throughout Canada and the USA, studying extensively under tap masters in NYC. Amanda was chosen as a soloist and Canadian National Tap Team member to compete at the International Dance Organization's World Tap Dance Championships in Reisa, Germany. She has performed in tap shows in LA and NYC, and was a dancer in the opening number for the internationally televised Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. In Calgary, Amanda has also dipped her toes into the vibrant theatre community.

With formal training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and musical theatre, Amanda brings both technical excellence and a joyful energy into the studio. Her positive, student-centred approach creates an environment where dancers of all ages feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow—not just as artists, but as individuals. In addition to being an educator, Amanda has been on scholarship adjudication panels, serves as an examiner, and adjudicates for numerous dance festivals and competitions across Canada.

Amanda also holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and leads Momentum with a deep belief in progress, community, and the power of showing up—step by step.

  • Miss. Laura

    Miss Laura has dedicated her life to nurturing a love for ballet in dancers of all levels. She believes ballet is for everyone and supports her students in achieving their artistic and athletic goals through strong technical foundations, musicality, dance history, and mindful movement.

    Her holistic approach emphasizes not only physical development but also self-esteem, consistency, and overall well-being. Laura is currently completing her Honours Degree in Dance Education and Licentiate with the Royal Academy of Dance and the University of Bath.

    She is proud to be part of the Momentum team, helping dancers build confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of ballet, one step at a time.

  • Miss. Mikaela

    Miss Mikaela’s love for dance began at a young age and has continued to grow ever since. She has trained in styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, tap, acrobatics, aerial arts, and musical theatre. She has completed RAD ballet and Acrobatic Arts exams and studied with the dance faculties at York University and the University of Calgary. Her training has taken her to New York, Vancouver, and Toronto, where she learned from a variety of inspiring educators.

    Currently, Miss Mikaela is part of the Decidedly Jazz Danceworks professional training program and is certified in Acrobatic Arts and Aerial Arts. She is also pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Dance at the University of Calgary.

    Miss Mikaela is passionate about working with children and youth, helping them build confidence, community, and a space to express their individuality through movement without fear or judgment.

  • Miss. Eva

    Miss Eva is a dynamic hip hop dancer and educator known for her authenticity, passion, and commitment to hip hop culture. Having trained and performed with respected communities like Pulse Studios, ILLFX, Universe Soul, and SOD Students of Dance, Miss Eva brings strong foundational training and a unique style to every class and stage.

    For Miss Eva, hip hop is more than movement—it’s a culture, a community, and a way of life. Her teaching honors hip hop’s history while encouraging students to explore their individuality and voice.

    Joining Momentum Dance Academy, Miss Eva is excited to help build a space where dancers can grow, connect, and create culture together. Her mission is to empower the next generation by staying true to the roots, pushing creative boundaries, and fostering community through hip hop’s essence.

  • Miss. Kylie

    Miss Kylie brings a dynamic blend of versatility, creativity, and purpose to her teaching at Momentum Dance Academy. She has built a strong foundation in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, while expanding her movement vocabulary with styles such as Bollywood, hip hop, Latin, and African.

    She has trained under esteemed choreographers such as Corinne Vessey and has had the opportunity to study at world-renowned institutions including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Broadway Across Canada.

    Miss Kylie is honoured to be part of Momentum Dance Academy, where she is passionate about fostering a supportive and nurturing environment that helps dancers build strong technique, and develop confidence as they grow both as movers and as individuals.
