Ms. Amanda
Owner/Studio Director
At the heart of Momentum is Ms. Amanda—a passionate performer, educator, and mentor with nearly 40 years of dance experience and over 20 years of teaching experience.
She has trained throughout Canada and the USA, studying extensively under tap masters in NYC. Amanda was chosen as a soloist and Canadian National Tap Team member to compete at the International Dance Organization's World Tap Dance Championships in Reisa, Germany. She has performed in tap shows in LA and NYC, and was a dancer in the opening number for the internationally televised Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. In Calgary, Amanda has also dipped her toes into the vibrant theatre community.
With formal training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and musical theatre, Amanda brings both technical excellence and a joyful energy into the studio. Her positive, student-centred approach creates an environment where dancers of all ages feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow—not just as artists, but as individuals. In addition to being an educator, Amanda has been on scholarship adjudication panels, serves as an examiner, and adjudicates for numerous dance festivals and competitions across Canada.
Amanda also holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and leads Momentum with a deep belief in progress, community, and the power of showing up—step by step.

Miss Kylie
Assistant Director
Jazz, Lyrical
Miss Kylie brings a dynamic blend of versatility, creativity, and purpose to her teaching at Momentum Dance Academy. She has built a strong foundation in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, while expanding her movement vocabulary with styles such as Bollywood, hip hop, Latin, and African.
She has trained under esteemed choreographers such as Corinne Vessey and has had the opportunity to study at world-renowned institutions including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Broadway Across Canada.
Miss Kylie is honoured to be part of Momentum Dance Academy, where she is passionate about fostering a supportive and nurturing environment that helps dancers build strong technique, and develop confidence as they grow both as movers and as individuals.

Miss Laura
Ballet
Miss Laura is a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. She has spent most of her life developing her passion for dance, particularly ballet. She believes ballet is for everyone and takes care to support dancers to reach their athletic and artistic goals through technical knowledge, dance history, musicality, and movement. With her holistic approach to dance, Miss. Laura understands the importance of developing a dancer's self esteem, physical capacity, practice, and overall health.
She is currently in her last year of her Honors Degree in Dance Education at the Royal Academy of Dance and University of Bath and her Licentiate.
She is thrilled to be a part of the Momentum team, inspiring dancers to reach for new heights and express themselves.

Miss Mikaela
Jazz, Acro, Lyrical
Miss. Mikaela is an emerging dance artist, teacher, and current undergraduate student at the University of Calgary, where she is studying both Dance and Sociology. Originally from northern Alberta, she began her training at Footworks Dance Academy in her hometown and later continued her studies at York University in Toronto. While living in Toronto, she immersed herself in the vibrant dance community and collaborated on a range of creative projects.
Miss. Mikaela has completed ballet exams through the Royal Academy of Dance and holds certifications in both Acrobatic Arts and Spectacle Blue Aerial Arts. In 2024, she trained in the Professional Training Program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (DJD), further expanding her practice. She has also had the opportunity to learn from a variety of artists in Vancouver, New York, and Los Angeles.
Miss. Mikaela is passionate about teaching and is dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive environment where students can grow both technically and artistically. She’s excited to share her love of dance with her students at Momentum Dance Academy this year!

Miss Eva
Hip Hop
Miss. Eva is a dynamic hip hop dancer and educator known for her authenticity, passion, and deep-rooted commitment to hip hop culture. With experience training and performing through respected communities like Pulse Studios, ILLFX, Universe Soul, and SOD Students of Dance, Eva brings both strong foundational training and a unique personal style to every class and stage.
For Miss. Eva, hip hop is more than just movement, it's a culture, a community, and a way of life. Her approach is grounded in the foundations of hip hop, honouring its history while encouraging students to explore their individuality and voice through dance.
Now stepping into a new chapter at Momentum Dance Academy, Miss. Eva is excited to help build a space where dancers can grow, connect, and create culture together. Her mission is to empower the next generation of dancers by staying true to the roots, pushing creative boundaries, and building community through the essence of hip hop.
